Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course

This comprehensive 3 day first aid at work course is for those intending to act as a first aider at work, the training is designed to provide the learner with the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose and treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of the casualty.

The training covers a wider range of subjects than that covered by the emergency first aid at work qualification.

The course provides learners with the skills and knowledge to deal with first aid situations in higher risk workplaces or workplaces with an increased number of employees.

Course content

The course covers the following subjects
Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency, cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
Wounds and bleeding, shock, minor injuries, choking, preventing cross infection, recording incidents and actions and the use of available equipment.
Fractures, sprains and strains, spinal injuries, chest injuries, burns and scalds, eye injuries, poisoning, anaphylaxis, heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma and diabetes.
The course consists of several practical exercises which are conducted at various stages throughout the first aid training course.

Ongoing throughout the 3 days.
