Level 3 First Aid at Work Training Course

This course is ideal for anyone wishing to become a first aider. It covers a wider range of subjects than that covered by the emergency first aid at work qualification. It provides learners with the skills and knowledge to deal with first aid situations in higher risk workplaces or workplaces with an increased number of employees.

This comprehensive 3 day first aid at work course is for people intending to act as a first aider at work, the course is designed to provide the first aider with the skills necessary to give effective life support, diagnose and treat injuries or illness, and maintain care and comfort of the casualty.

This comprehensive course equips learners with the vital skills necessary to diagnose and treat injuries or illness, with an emphasis on dealing with life threatening situations until professional help arrives.

Employers duties:
You must make appropriate first-aid arrangements for your workplace. In doing so you should consider the circumstances of your workplace, workforce and the health and safety risks that may be present to help you decide what arrangements you need to put in place.

When your first-aid needs assessment indicates that trained first-aiders are required, the training should meet the required standard. First-aid training is available from a number of sources.

3 days consecutive, or if you require dependent on attendees, we can run the course of 3 days over 3 week period.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work

Course Content, will cover the following topics. Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency, cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)

Wounds and bleeding, shock, minor injuries, choking, preventing cross infection, recording incidents and actions and the use of available equipment.

Fractures, sprains and strains, spinal injuries, chest injuries, burns and scalds, eye injuries, poisoning, anaphylaxis, heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma and Ddabetes.

The course consists of several practical exercises which are conducted at various stages throughout the first aid training course.
Assessment will be ongoing throughout the 3 days.

The course is a mix of theory and practical application.
